Back To The Border: 2nd Battalion Group In East Timor (2004) By Captain Dave Good
For six months, from October 2001 to April 2002, members of the 2nd Battalion Group served in the Bobonaro District of East Timor as part of the United Nations Transitional Administration in the newly independent nation. A vast majority of the group was part of the initial Australian force that landed on the first day of the INTERFET campaign just two years before. They were later the first Australian troops to secure this region of Bobonaro on the border of Indonesian West Timor.
