Little Itchy Itchy And Their Cartoons (1944) By Reg Manning
Collection of political/propaganda cartoons from World War Two, many with offensive caricatures of the Japanese - the few Chinese depicted, as allies, are not treated unsympathetically, nor are European enemies distorted so harshly. The title character was a common Japanese soldier usually depicted offering a high-ranking officer a sword for ritual suicide, asking "Now?" Manning was a Pulitzer Prize-winning Phoenix cartoonist active from 1926-1971, perhaps best-remembered for his popular account of cactus types.
