Allan Edgar completed his RAAF training as an Air Observer under the Empire Air Training Scheme and flew in England with the RAF. This book and the play that preceded it grew out of his early training period and his observations of the people he met. He also draws on other stories related by men and women of other services. The result is a very funny insight into basic military training, and anyone who has spent time in the Services will relate to Allan's story. There are many incidents that the reader will recognise.
