18 folding maps and numerous integral photo plates, diagrams, and charts.

A detailed account of the New Zealand Mounted Rifles in Palestine during the First World War, featuring an impressive suite of 18 maps. The book contains introductions by Generals Sir John Maxwell, Sir Archibald Murray, Sir Edmund Allenby, and Lieutenant-General Sir Harry Chauvel.

Battles and campaigns detailed in the book include: Romani, Rafa, Gaza, Beersheba, Jerusalem, River Auja, Khirbet Hadra, Jericho, Bethlehem, and Amman. As noted by Cyril Falls, the part played by the New Zealand Mounted Rifles in the Dardanelles campaign is the subject of an entirely separate volume (although the departure of the Canterbury Mounted Rifles for Gallipoli is treated in this book).
