Worrals Goes East (1944) By Captain W. E. Johns
 
Worrals Goes East by W. E. Johns was first published in 1944 by Hodder & Stoughton, reprinted in 1947 and reissued as a second edition in 1950. Musson Books also published a Canadian edition in English in 1946. The events in the book took place in Syria during the Second World War.
 
In 1969, French publisher Aredit published a two-part comic strip adaptation of the story entitled Jeune fille de l'intelligence service and Une mission difficile in their small format comic series for girls Tina, in issues 19 and 20.
