"The Second Great War: A Standard History" is a nine-volume collection published in 1947 and edited by John Hammerton. It was initially released in 104 parts, appearing fortnightly and then monthly over more than five years, returning to a fortnightly schedule in its final year.
This set offers an in-depth exploration of World War II and serves as an important contemporary historical record of the conflict. Although "Second Great War" pertains to this work, the period is more commonly known as World War II or WWII.
